The theory of computation is a sector that invents new algorithms, proves the correctness of pre-existing algorithms and/or computes the time/space complexity of algorithms. Furthermore, this field also investigates whether problems are computable or not. Recently, string matching algorithms and indexing of data structure for efficient search are researched significantly. These algorithms are applied to many fields, especially bioinformatics, network security and information retrieval.
